Shin Shalom (Shapira, Shalom)

Shin Shalom (Shapira, Shalom)
(b. 1904)
   Israeli poet of Ukrainian origin. He was the son of the Hasidic rabbi of Drohobycz. From 1914 to 1922 he lived in Vienna, and then settled in Palestine. He wrote mystical religious poetry, an autobio-graphical novel, stories and plays. He also translated the sonnets of Shakespeare into Hebrew.
